The climbing community is known for its camaraderie, support, and shared passion for the sport. It's a place where individuals challenge themselves physically and mentally, but also find a sense of belonging and connection with like-minded people. However, amidst all the joys and triumphs that climbing brings, there can also be moments of darkness and struggle.
My campaign, born out of loss but fueled by hope, is hoping to make waves in the climbing world. Anchored in memory of my son Harry Southern a 19-year-old climber who tragically lost his battle with mental health. By combining the thrill of climbing with a powerful message of hope and support, this campaign aims to make a real difference in the lives of those who may be silently suffering. The blog feature of this website serves as a platform for sharing stories, resources, and insights related to mental health and suicide prevention within the climbing community. Visitors can find valuable information and inspiring narratives that aim to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues and encourage individuals to seek help when needed. As climbers, we understand the importance of trust, support, and perseverance in overcoming challenges on and off the wall. By supporting initiatives like this one, we can come together as a community to promote mental well-being, raise awareness about suicide prevention, and ultimately save lives. Let's hold on for one another and show that together, we can overcome any obstacle that comes our way.
